THE SIMPLE PRESENT

We use the simple present for:

-    For facts and things that are true.
-    Normal actions.
-    To describe people and things.

PRESENT SIMPLE POSITIVE

I/WE/YOU/THEY & BASE FORM OF THE VERB

-    I go to work everyday.
-    You focus on sales.
-    We travel around the world.
-    They export globally.

HE/SHE/IT & CHANGE THE VERB TO END WITH s/es/ies

-    She goes to work everyday.
-    He travels around the world.
-    The company exports globally.


CONVERSATION MODAL

HELEN: Peter, this is Robert Johnson. He works for GLOBAL OIL. It’s an oil company.
PETER: Pleased to meet you, Robert. So which countries do you export to?
ROBERT: We mainly focus on exporting to the Middle East. We always travel around the Middle East to promote and improve our production.

ADVERBS OF FREQUEBCY

Frequency adverbs say how often we do something.

1.  NEVER – 0% - I never travel abroad.
2. HARDLY EVER/ RARELY -5% I hardly ever argue with my colleagues.
3. SELDOM – 10 % - I seldom wake up late on weekends.
4.  OCCASIONALLY – 30% - I occasionally eat lunch in the office.
5.  SOMETIMES – 50% - I sometimes forget to send important emails.
6.  OFTEN/ FREQUENTLY – 80% - I often go to the gym in the morning.
7.  USUALLY – 90% - I usually finish my tasks on time.
8.  ALWAYS – 100% - I always go to bed early.
