THIS

-    We use THIS for a person or thing that is CLOSE.
-    We use THIS for a SINGULAR person or thing.


THAT

-    We use THAT for a person or thing that is FAR.
-    We use THAT for a SINGULAR person or thing.


THESE

-    We use THESE for more than one person or thing that are CLOSE.
-    We use THESE for PLURAL things or people.


THOSE

-    We use THOSE for more than one person or thing that are FAR.
-    We use THOSE for PLURAL things or people.


CLOSE

-    This is my car. (Singular)
-    These people work hard. (Plural)


FAR

-    That house is being built. (Singular)
-    Those houses are being built. (Plural)
