SUBJECT + VERB BE + ING


WE USE THE PRESENT TENSE TO DESCRIBE THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING NOW.

SINGULAR

-       I am studying.
-       You are eating.
-       He is playing.
-       She is singing.
-       It is working.


PLURAL

-       We are learning.
-       You are travelling.
-       They are talking.

CONTRACTIONS

-       I am = I’m
-       You are = You’re
-       He is = He’s
-       She is = She’s
-       It is = It’s
-       We are = We’re
-       You are = You’re
-       They are = They’re

EXAMPLES

-       I’m studying English.
-       You’re eating popcorn.
-       He’s playing tennis.
